How the basic 5-week program works
To get started:
Register
If you are a teacher, register your school. This is a two-step process as we need to verify you are a teacher at the school.
Your skipping resources
Your kit with skipping ropes, coaching cards, parent information and more will arrive before you start the program. You’ll also have access to online resources including skipping videos.
Announce your program
Use the prewritten emails, social media posts and inserts to tell your colleagues, students and parents when fundraising and skipping starts.
Week 1 - Get students registered
Share the launch video at your school assembly and announce your fundraising goal. In your resource kit, you’ll have fundraising guides and stickers for students and posters to display around your school.
Week 2 - Get everyone skipping
Share Skipping Challenge 1 - this is a basic video challenge to get everyone active. Encourage students to work through the program’s skipping tricks and mark their progress along the way.
Week 3 - Award your students
Award your top school fundraisers and skippers at assembly with certificates. Share Skipping Challenge 2 – this is a basic trick, and you’ll have a video to teach the students.
Week 4 - Showcase your skippers
Ask a student from each grade to perform their favourite skipping trick at your assembly (get some teachers involved too!). Share Skipping Challenge 3 - this is a tricky one, but the video will help students learn it!
Week 5 - Hold your Jump Off Day
Set aside one hour and run skipping stations around your playground. You’ll get a run sheet with warmups, activities and timings. Celebrate your students’ achievements through the program..
